Business Analyst Avaloq



In the position of Business Analyst at Project Management Department you will take the lead in business analysis and project management in the area of improvements within AVALOQ and IT systems integrated thereto. As an AVALOQ expert you will guide the users during AVALOQ release management and support them in case of issues arising in production environment of our Core Banking System.


Your responsibilities

The employee’s main duties in this role shall include, but are not limited to, as follows:
  • Defining business requirements producing Business Requirements Documents (BRD) and System Requirements Documents (SRD) for changes to be applied in the Banking core system (AVALOQ) and other applications as appropriate
  • Managing projects related to AVALOQ and and its satellite systems (SWIFT, e-Banking, Hyperarchive, Staging area, etc.)
  • Proposing solutions aligned with business requirements, overall information architecture and the operating context
  • Support to users in the area of issues arising within AVALOQ core banking system and its satellite systems
  • Taking lead in AVALOQ release management
  • Ensuring consistency between the business processes on one side and workflows within Banking Core System (AVALOQ) or other applications on the other side
  • Formulating change requirements to bring functionality in IT applications with target processes. Testing of existing and updated workflows within AVALOQ and other applications
  • Producing accurate product and business processes documentation
  • Reporting of the statuses to Management Board and Product, Projects and Technology Committee
  • Maintaining a close relationship with the business, provide backlog status and advice when required

Your profile

  • University degree, preferably Bachelor or Master in IT, Banking or Business Administration
  • At least 3 years of experience in the role of Business analyst for AVALOQ either in a Bank or in consulting for Banking sector
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in AVALOQ Banking core system allowing to formulate business requirements for changes, as well as to test workflows. Holding of AVALOQ professional certificate is an asset
  • Good knowledge on financial messaging standards (SWIFT MT/MX) and experience with SWIFT components (SWIFT Alliance Lite2, SWIFT Alliance Cloud, SWIFT SIL, SWIFT Alliance Warehouse, SWIFT Screening Utility) will be considered as an asset
  • Team player with pro-business attitude

  • Ability to listen, empathy and excellent communication skills
  • Able to deliver work of a high standard with attention to detail
  • Able to structure work logically and efficiently
  • IT skills: good knowledge of AVALOQ, MS Office, SQL. Ideally: Python, Power BI, Visio
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written. Knowledge of Russian, French or German will be considered an asset
